Good morning
Today I would like to share with you a powerful moment I shared with two coworkers. Since we were children, we have had limits put upon us. From the time we were born, we have been told we could not do everything we wanted or dreamed about. We were continually told, you can’t do that, there’s no money in that, get a real job, get a real degree, grow up, you’re dreaming. So we did what we were told.
We pushed our dreams and goals aside, we went after careers that were appropriate for us. We chose educations that would provide us with stability, predictability, and a pension. Our dreams of being doctors, astronauts, pilots, actors, rock stars, millionaires, etc., were pushed out of our minds. The thing is that all of us have the potential to achieve and accomplish all that we dream. We can accomplish all of our goals; the hardest part is discovering what we want and then choose to act.
So how do we get there? Take a look at how you invest your time? How much time do you spend working on you? How much time do you spend everyday working on your dream? In the last 90 days how many books have you read? In the last year what new skill or knowledge have you acquired? What kind of investment have you made in you?
Tomorrow on the way to work take a look at the people around you. The people around you have become so caught up with life that they spend no time working on themselves or their dream. They run out of the house and rush through traffic angry and mad, just so they can get to a job they hate. The get to work and then they can’t wait to punch out and rush home. They rush home to sit on the couch, they rush home to do nothing, they rush home to just sit there and eventually they go to sleep and do it all over again the next day. They have accomplished all that they ever will in life.
The thing is, THAT’S NOT YOU! That’s not who you are. Ask yourself, what am I doing to better myself? What am I doing to be successful? Push past your limits, push past your fears. Find out what you want and then go after it. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams, and surround yourself with people who are working toward their dreams too.
Look, nobody is going to knock on your door and push you toward your goals. Your goals are yours, you have to fight for them, you have to work harder than anyone else for your dreams and goals because they are yours. You just have to invest in yourself, you have to work on the weekends, in the evenings and during every free moment you have work to reach your goals.
With that I leave you with one last thought. There is an urge. An urge that every person, every champion, every winner, every king, every president, every soldier has felt, they have felt the urge to quite. They don’t’ though, they don’t give in, they keep going, and they keep fighting for what they believed in. They got back up after every fall and keep moving toward their dreams and goals. Don’t you give up on your dreams. Don’t you do it! I don’t care if you don’t have the money; if you don’t have the support, if you don’t have the help or if you don’t have the back ground for it. You keep going. It may take you twice as long, you may have to take classes, you may have to read more, you may have to study more but don’t you quite. Go after your dreams and make them a reality!
